5. REGULAR OPERATION
5.1. Switching on the Unit
Whenever the system is switched on it will go into standby
mode. None of the electrical components will be switched on until
the system is operated. After operation, the electrical
components will be switched off one by one until the standby mode
is reached again.
- Make sure the power cord is connected to a wall outlet,
and that it is sufficiently long to enable the unit to
cover the full length of the bowling lane.
- Wait until the self-diagnostic test has been done. The
self-diagnostic test will take approx. 3 seconds, during
which both the start indicator
and the error indicator
lights should be on
(if one or more is not, please refer to 'TROUBLE
CHECKS').
5.2. Mounting the Unit onto a Bowling Lane
- Grip the handle bar' with both hands and guide the unit
just before the foul line of the bowling lane.
- Make sure the unit is center-aligned to the lane.
- Move the unit forward until the four rear casters hang
free above the gutters.
- Gently tilt the unit so that the back conductor wheels
touch the lane surface. Both front casters will be lifted
off the approach surface.
- Move the unit forward until the next pair of casters roll
into the gutters.
- Gently lower the handle bar' until the front pair of
casters touch the approach surface.
- Move the unit forward until the front conductor wheels
rest on the lane surface.
5.3. Conditioning a Lane
- Make sure the start indicator
within the start button
burns continuously. (If this is
not the case, turn to page 16, 'TROUBLE CHECKS').
- Press the illuminated green start button
. The air pump will be switched on
and after a few seconds the unit will start moving. The
start indicator
will flash.
- Wait until the unit has returned to the foul line and
stops moving. To strip the lane, the unit will run along
the lane and back; to oil it the unit will do the same
again.
- Wait until the start indicator
has stopped flashing. The unit can now be
safely transferred to the next lane without depositing
mist droplets onto the approach.
- To temporarily halt the session, briefly press the
flashing green start button. To resume, briefly
press the flashing green start button
again. To completely cancel the
session, hold down the start button for approx. 2
seconds.

twice in quick succession
('double-click'). The unit will not do any stripping; it
will only oil the lane over the first few feet.
5.5. Transferring the Unit to the Next Lane
- Grip the unit at the handle bar' with both hands.
Slightly lift the unit and pull it toward you so that the
front casters rest on the approach.
- Pull the unit toward you and lift the unit onto its
middle casters.
- Tilt the machine by pushing down the handle bar'. Pull
the unit further toward you until the back casters rest
on the approach.
- Guide the unit to the next lane and follow the
instructions under 'Mounting the Unit onto a Bowling
Lane'.
